CPU:   Single P3 1.0 GHz
RAM:   512 MB of memory (RDRAM or DIMM)
Hard Drive:   40 GB 5200 rpm IDE drive or 36 GB 5200 rpm SCSI drive
Graphics Card:   NVIDIA Quadro2 / GeForce3 with 32 MB of memory *Monitor:   17" CRT (Viewsonic / Sony Trinitron etc)
Optional software:
Microsoft Office
Winzip
Internet Explorer 5.5 (or greater) / Mozilla / Firefox

* We have only tested with NVIDIA cards, but ATI cards should work fine, too.   An NVIDIA Quadro2 or GeForce3 card with 32 MB of memory will work with RemoteView, but performance will be minimal at best .   The GeForce card will be cheaper but will not do stereo at all.   Some of the older Quadro cards will do stereo, but many don't.

CPU:   Single / Dual P4 2.8 GHZ
RAM:   2 GB of memory (DDR DIMM)
Hard Drive:   100 GB 7200 rpm IDE drive   or;
100 GB 7200 SATA drive   or; 73 GB 7200 SCSI drive

19" LCD display (Viewsonic / Dell /   HP)

Optional software and hardware:
Microsoft Office
Adobe Acrobat Reader
Winzip
Internet Explorer 5.5 (or greater) / Mozilla / Firefox

Ethernet 100/T Network Interface Card for network
and library connectivity

* Due to cost, the GeForce cards are recommended over the Quadro cards unless stereo is needed.   128 MB of graphics memory is better, but 64 will work fine.   We have only tested with NVIDIA cards, but ATI cards should work fine, too.   Users can expect to run at 1600x1200 resolution.   With the correct drivers and settings, they can run up to 3200x1200 over two displays.

Gigabit 1000/T Ethernet Network Interface Card for network and library connectivity

* We have had good experience with the Dell 2001FP or the Viewsonic VP201B LCD display.   The Apple Cinema does a good job on displaying 3D fly-throughs, but the current refresh rate makes roaming somewhat choppy.   The Apple Cinema display can only be bought from Apple or an Apple authorized reseller. In addition, you need two FX 3400's or one FX 4000 to run the two 30" Apple displays at the same time with the latest NVIDIA drivers.   Also, if you want very smooth roaming, you will be more satisfied in general with a CRT due to faster refresh rates of CRT's.   Currently, only very high-end LCD's have sufficiently fast refresh rates to support smooth roaming.

** These are for stereo viewing and are reasonably priced.     Go to www.edimensional.com .   The goggles come with drivers that allow stereo viewing, and are compatible with the NVIDIA chipset in the graphics card.
